This morning I started my juice cleanse.
So far so good! I am actually really impressed with both the flavor of the juice and my dedication to the program.
Glow:
I honestly only have one problem with this juice. The mint. I hate mint and for some reason I underestimated the amount of mint that was going to be in there. Many of the online reviews stated that the celery was over powering but I thought the celery was refreshing compared to the mint. I also tasted the cucumber quite a bit which I thought was going to be horrible since I hate cucumber but paired with the apple and celery it was balanced nicely. The kale and collards are virtuely tasteless until the aftertaste which is bitter compared to the juice itself.
The first few sips were a bit hard to stomach just because you are tasting so many flavors at once. However, I went into a staff meeting shortly after this picture was taken and I killed the last half of the bottle and towards the end I was really enjoying it. I am enjoying it so much so that I even looked forward to tomorrow morning. I guess we will see.
I opened it at around 7:30 but really didn’t drink it until 9. Tomorrow I will try to drink it closer to 7:30. I feel like I am barely ready for my second juice.
Ingredients: 2 apples, 6 celery stalks, ½ a cucumber, a handful of spinach, 3 collard leaves, 3 kale leaves and a sprig of mint

I actually expected this juice to better than it was. The carrots at first taste come across a little dull. Not quite as meaty as I would have expected from a carrot juice but the real show stopper is the turmeric. Seriously. It is almost spicy and it pairs so well with the carrots (a very Moroccan theme which I love). The juice ends on a cool note with the acids of the apple, pineapple and lemon lingering on your pallet. That turmeric though.
I started this one around 11:15 and am halfway done at around 11:30. Because they are very filling, they take longer to drink than I originally thought. I am a morning person so it feels like my afternoon is more juice heavy. I still have 4 juices left!
Ingredients: 9 carrots, 1 orange, 1 apple, slice of pineapple, ½ a lemon and an inch of turmeric
Nutrition: 90 calories per serving, 2 servings per bottle
Purify:
Um. This one is not doing it for me. Beets. I can’t get passed the beets. I’ve been sitting here for 6 minutes and have only been able to muster little sips. After the beet taste (dirt) subsides it does cool down with the apple, celery and cucumber and actually tastes similar to Glow in that regard. But the beets. They don’t recommend skipping shakes because of the caloric intake of the juices but because you basically have a shake every 2 hours it is just too much for me. I am not hungry and honestly am starting to get acid reflux from the pineapple in the previous juice.
I am going to try to nurse this sucker for another couple minutes and force myself to drink half of it. I was doing fine up until this juice but now I want a burger. With chili and cheese. The good news is that my pee is clear. So yay kidneys.
Ingredients:7 carrots, 1 apple, 2 celery stalks, a ¼ of a cucumber, ½ a beet and ½ a lemon
Nutrition: 70 calories per serving, 2 servings per bottle
Unfortunately one of the juices gave me severe acid reflux and I had to eat some crackers. I am going to try again in a few days but even 3 hours after having the juice, I am still burping.
Disclaimer: I am aware all these shots are weirdly me posing with a bottle. Just roll with it.
