BB Cream vs. CC Cream

Recently, I started selling Mary Kay. Don’t worry, I am not going to make this blog be about Mary Kay. It is still my personal blog but products have always had a home here. A while ago I tried a BB Cream which at first I thought was the best product EVER. I still think that product is awesome but after a while I found that the Garnier BB Cream was not giving me enough moisture. In that post, I said I would still like to use this product but I would be looking around for other brands and that is exactly what I did.

BB Cream has evolved so much since I started using it. The new generation BB cream is now called CC Cream. It still has all the same qualities, but with emphasis on concealing and correcting. Mary Kay has their own version of this product and I love it so much. It is great for everyday low coverage use. However, not every one is a convert so I would like to give you some more information about not just the Mary Kay CC cream but these types of creams in general.

Foundation vs Concealer vs Moisturizer:

BB and CC creams are closer to tinted moisturizers than they are to foundations. A lot of people do not like the fact it is not full coverage and that it doesn’t conceal every single bump. The point is, with continuous use and over time, these products diminish blemishes, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and most importantly give your skin moisture–all without clogging your pores. Sure it may not cover a scab completely but it will help that scab be less visible with daily use. I wrote in my last post about my acne scars or scabs being purple for sometimes weeks until they heal over. This product has helped reduce the visible by days if not weeks on some of my scabs. For under eyes, I think this product works awesome as a concealer but for darker scars and spots it wont cover them completely, just reduce their visibility over time.

Miracle Product?:

No product is a miracle product. Does this product still contain chemicals? Yes–most make up that has age defying benefits does. Will this product cause some people to break out? Yes–because everyone’s skin is different. Some people are more sensitive and some people have allergies. Will it match everyone’s skin tone? No–I have met some people where the light is too light and the dark is too dark. But the great thing is, there are several brands and other products that can help to do the same thing.

Best way to apply?:

For CC Cream I would recommend apply the product straight with your fingers, like you would with a moisturizer. You can always use a brush or a sponge but with your hands you can work it in without streaking or settling on top of your skin. It will also give your skin a more natural finish. There are several ways to apply but the direction I chose to go in is to start at the T-Zone and go out and down in a circular motion. If you have peach fuzz or hair on your face, make sure you rub the product in thoroughly because it will clump on the peach fuzz when it dries. If you are having trouble rubbing in the CC Cream you can always mix it with a little moisturizer and it will blend easier.

Primer?:

CC Cream can act like a primer. If you are a primer wearer or you are planning to wear eyeshadow or other types of make-up, I would suggest you continue to wear it. For those just looking for the foundation and the concealing aspects I would say you are fine without a primer.

For any more questions, you can ask in the comments. If you want to buy the Mary Kay CC Cream, you can visit this link.

Product Review-Sally Hansen Microwavable Wax Kit

SDC12386

Facial hair sucks. It grows so quickly and in places where it should not be (re: lady-staches). I usually use Sally Hansen cream hair removal but I decided, since I am sick and bored, that I would try to wax. I had my legs waxed once and it was a horrible experience. It felt like getting my skin ripped off. I occasionally get my eyebrows waxed and while it stings, it is not as traumatic as getting my legs waxed. I have never tried waxing the lip so that is where I decided to start.

Taken

As much as I would like to say this entry is about Liam Neeson, unfortunately it is about how my phone/wallet was stolen last week. Not even how–I am really not even sure how it happened–more like how I felt,

I was at the bowling alley with my family and somewhere between the shoe counter and our lanes, my phone was gone. My phone has a wallet attached so my driver license, debit and credit cards were also taken. It could have easily fallen out of my pocket but when I called Verizon, the signal had already been turned off and no one at the bowling alley turned anything in. So even if I did drop it, someone swooped it up.

I am surprised I am handling it so well but I am taking it as a right of passage. I feel like at some point most people have some  incident like this happen, whether it is a car break in or identity theft. I feel like I was just biding my time until it happened to me. That being said, it still sucks. It is such a pain in the ass. In California, you have to physically go into the DMV to get a replacement license. Because it was stolen, I have to mail/fax a claim to the insurance (I don’t have a printer or a fax) so I have to wait until I can get access. If it sounds like I am complaining, I am. This is a crappy thing to have to deal with. I have no way to pay for anything since I had to close all my accounts and have to wait a few business days before things can get back up and running. I can drive but at my own risk since I have no ID. I can’t buy booze and cough syrup, which was going to be my main way of coping this weekend. (To clarify I am sick and not using cough syrup as a recreational drug) While this hasn’t been the worst thing to happen and it definitely could have been worse, it still was an amazing inconvenience considering I was the “victim”.

Oh and life lesson from my mom, never keep all your credit cards and debit cards in one place.

Almost Human Pilot Recap-Noodle Breath

I love Michael Ealy and I love Karl Urban. They are very different actors and I like them for different reasons but when I heard that they were going to be staring in a T.V. show together, I knew I had to watch. The show premiered on Sunday November 17th, 2013  or at least the first night of the two night première did on the Fox Network. The second part of the première took place the next night on Monday November 18th, 2013.

We start in 2048 with a robotic type voice giving us an introduction about the state of today’s society that basically says the police now partner with robots. We immediately switch to gunfire and we see Karl Urban’s character (not yet introduced by name) getting a call that someone is down. Oh, his name is Detective John Kennex. It turns out the guy who is wounded is his partner and the robot tells John to leave his partner because there are people who have more chance of living/surviving. The robot was able to run this diagnostic test which I think is cool. Then there is an explosion and John drifts off to la la land where he is in bed with a pretty woman.

Amazon Raises Free Shipping Price

amazon

I am a frequent Amazon shopper and always loved the free shipping on orders over $25. I was a little shocked earlier this week when I went to me place an order that was around $26 dollars and discovered I still needed $9 more. I had just placed an order on October 16th and received the free shipping with the lower minimum order. The change took place on Monday October 21st, 2013 and was announced on October 22nd, 2013. I guess I missed that memo. The reasoning behind the change was to aid with the cost of the impending holiday season. I am not sure how I feel about this.

Weighing in on Diet Pills

Green Coffee Bean Extract

Ignore the Pepsi, it is just product placement.

This is not my first attempt at trying diet pills, nor is it my first time being on a kick where I want to lose weight. See previous posts here and here. But since I have heard so much about weight-loss products on T.V. and in the media (seriously Dr. Oz has endorsed about 5 different products) I decided that I want to try some out and see if they actually work when used like directed. (*These are personal reviews. I am not being compensated or receiving anything in return for using the product. In fact, I paid for these on my own)
