As evidence by my previous blog posts, I am not a very good cook. I can bake alright. I can follow a recipe, but I do not have that ease that seems to come to many in the kitchen. This past weekend however, some awesome stuff came out of my kitchen and I was really impressed with myself.

On Thursday:

Carrot Soup with Greek Yogurt

Friday Night:

Orange Garlic Stir Fry and Cream of Broccoli Soup

Lastly and honestly the best:

Fried Eggs over Fried Rice!

I cannot cook. All these meals above were flukes or easy to follow recipes. But this rice was delicious and I made it up on the spot. I had no recipe to follow and only vaguely recalled how to make it after watching the gentleman at Shogun Kobe, a Hibachi styled steak house, 30 times the past few years. I was so shocked at how well it turned out, that nice I made another whole batch. And thankfully because I made it myself on my Green Pan, I didn’t use that much oil. I did a mixture of olive oil and vegetable oil because I felt silly wasting expensive olive oil on a dish that is already fattening. I can’t wait to eat my leftovers soon!
